Mr. Thomas has gained critical legal experience in Florida statewide and local elections and campaigns since 1992.

While in law school, Mr. Thomas was selected for the Florida House state internship program as a law clerk for the House Majority Office.  In addition, during his third year in law school, Mr. Thomas worked as the law clerk for the House Judiciary Committee.  During this time, he was responsible for bill tracking, analysis and drafting legislation for House Members on the committees.

In 1994, Mr. Thomas served as a travel and campaign aide to Lt. Governor Buddy MacKay and the Lawton Chiles for Governor Campaign.  All of this experience has positively contributed to Mr. Thomas’ ability to advise clients on election law issues.

Mr. Thomas has represented many different campaigns and interest groups:  two statewide gubernatorial campaigns, a CFO candidate, numerous State House and Senate campaigns, 501 (c)(3) and 501 (c)(4) organizations, lobbying organizations, local mayor, city commission and statewide and local political committees and committees of continuous existence (“CCE’s”).  Mr. Thomas has also advised Florida referendum and issue campaigns.  Mr. Thomas has also advised federal Congressional candidates regarding Federal Election Commission law and compliance.

Mr. Thomas has also represented clients with issues in front of the Florida Elections Commission and Division of Elections.  He has obtained elections opinions and results for his clients which has assisted clients in maintaining proper legal and ethical compliance with election law.

Mr. Thomas also represents judicial candidates statewide in their Election, Judicial Qualification Commission and Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee Compliance regarding Canon 7 of the Code of Judicial Conduct and its application to elections.
